 The Rules
« Thread Started on May 17, 2009, 5:47pm »

Welcome!
Greetings and welcome to False Effect formally known as Call of the Wild! This place has been through a lot and some I haven't even been around to see. However, Call of the Wild was (and is) an important place to me. Call of the Wild did move to a new site called "Lost in Translation", but it didn't work out well at all. Most of our former members didn't rejoin and I, Moon, decided that it was time to move back to the place CotW wolves belong...on Call of the Wild.

I may not be the best admin that Call of the Wild has seen, but I shall try my best as the new head and current owner of the place. Make sure you read over the new rules and ask me any questions if you have them. Thanks!

 General Rules
« Reply #1 on May 17, 2009, 6:07pm »

General Rules
― First; please respect everyone on the website no matter who they are. We will not tolerate bullying, arguing, or gossip! If you do such things; you will be banished from this site for a period of time or for good depending on how horrible it was.

― Second; if the staff see anyone doing something wrong, they will correct them. Please don't back talk the staff because it is disrespectful, but also could move out into a fight. If there are any problems with one of the staff members being disrespectful to you; please message me as soon as possible and I will take care of it for you.

― Third; do not use any copyrighted material or images! There is a law against using copyrighted material and we don't want False Effect to be in harm of being sued for foolishness. Hopefully the staff will catch any copyrighted material or images being used before we get in trouble with anyone. If the owner of the material or image(s) comes onto False Effect and ask for it to be removed; DON'T give them any lip and remove them. Thanks!

― Fourth; this website is not real life, so please don't bring drama into it. I know it's hard at times especially as I have done it in the past...but let's all try our best to keep out of character drama out. Of course, instead of keeping it completely out; I'll create a board just for the drama-like things to be here. This could include anything from losing a pet goldfish to boyfriend/girlfriend troubles or maybe even rants. But do not be rude to anyone!

― Fifth; if you're going to join, please stay active! I understand if you give False Effect a try and don't see it fit...but please don't disappear! Let us know so we don't wonder where in the world you are! Therefore, please post at least once a week to keep from being deleted. If you have any questions over this rule, please ask.

 Character Rules
« Reply #2 on May 17, 2009, 7:40pm »

Character Rules
― Sixth; Call of the Wild has always been realistic and we wish to keep it realistic here. All unrealistic markings must be approved by a staff member and you have to post who gave you the permission in the joining thread of that wolf.

― Seventh; we only allow wolves here and (at certain points) humans. Please do not come up with any random animals without permission from me that involves a plot and reasoning.

― Eighth; the only thing that we are fine with and you don't need permission for are; eye colors and strange deformities. Other than that, if you can't find it on a real wolf; not without permission.

― Ninth; only certain wolves can transform into humans. They are not werewolves. So, they aren't going to be larger than any other wolf breed at maximum height. They will just be like normal wolves with the fact that they can transform into humans. NO SUPER POWERS OR ANYTHING! You must have the permission to create one of these wolves from me, Moon. If you have any questions over this; let me know.

― Tenth; please use existing wolf breeds only. No died out wolf breeds or anything. Please ask me if it is needed or you have some plot idea.

 Pack Rules
« Reply #3 on May 17, 2009, 9:04pm »

Pack Rules
― Eleventh; you can only claim land that is available for claim! The posts must be in character with at least five hundred words. If the post seems fit then it will be accepted by one of the staff members and they will update the board. You may change the board description or create sub-boards.

― Twelfth; the alpha (the one who claimed or won the challenge) can set up rules and such for their pack... however, they must be fair when it comes to fighting terms or the staff will ask to change them.

― Thirteenth; the alpha may rank those who join their pack in anyway that they wish. They can have any reason that they want for positioning them.

― Fourteenth; all packlands may be challenged for unless the owner has already been challenged between a month. After FIGHTING the challenge and winning; the owner has a month of 'resting' time.

― Fifteenth; males and females may own a pack, but it is likely that they do have a mate as their "alpha female or male". However, it is not required at all! Rankings depend on the actual owner of the pack and not the second-in-command unless they have permission to do so.

NOTE :: all packs that do not have an active thread / post at least once a week will be put back up for claim.

 Fighting Rules
« Reply #4 on May 31, 2009, 2:02pm »

Fighting Rules
― Sixteenth; no powerplaying what-so-ever! Powerplaying is when you take control of another persons character without their permission. For example; "Bob bit Bill's neck and killed him". It should be; "Bob aimed at Bill's neck in attempt to kill him" or something along those lines.

― Seventeenth; once your wolf and another get into a fight... please message a staff member of your choice to judge the battle. There will only be one judge, but if you don't think they judged fairly or want to see what another staff believes; you can message another staff to get their judgment. Please note that whoever you pick does not have to judge the battle if they don't want to. If all else fails (or just because you're awesome) message me and I'll judge it.

― Eighteenth; the terms will be set by the two members fighting in this battle and must be agreed by both. If one disagrees on a term; talk it over and try to settle on removing it or changing it around.

― Nineteenth; rejecting a challenge is impossible unless if it is a challenge on a secondary alpha position. If you don't want to fight; you get whatever the other member challenged you for taken away. It's basically do or die here, but no deaths unless agreed upon by both members.

― Twentieth; as stated in the Nineteenth Rule... the main alpha has the right to choose their partner or any other high ranked wolves in their pack. You may challenge for any position unless stated otherwise or if the main alpha rejects it. The main alpha, however, can be challenged and must take the challenge or face loosing whatever was challenged for.

 Breeding & Birthing Rules
« Reply #5 on Jun 1, 2009, 1:56pm »

Breeding && Birthing Rules
― Twenty First; the breeding seasons are summer and winter. The birthing seasons are spring and fall. That's simple right? This keeps in more roleplaying and less puppy bring, but also gives the chance for lovers to have their pups. Once in awhile; there will be rewards were you may breed a couple of your choice in any season.

― Twenty Second; no graphic breeding! If you must, than please do it through messaging. We want to keep this place friendly so spying adults don't attack you for reading something you shouldn't. Breeding maybe in posts, but it must "fade to black".

― Twenty Third; the parents MUST meet before they breed. If there is no proof in a thread, then the pups will be stillborn. This includes rapes and such.

― Twenty Fourth; a male wolf can't randomly rape any females without the permission of both roleplayers. It is unfair and who would want some random male coming in to rape them? I think not. Please contact a staff member if there are any problems with this.

― Twenty Fifth; the staff will give you the size, eye color, main coat color, sub-coat color(s), and number of markings. After that, you are free to choose whatever markings and where they are. However, all members must ask the same staff if any of the pups can have strange markings. These markings are usually only for the chosen wolves so please have a good reason.

 Aging && Dying Rules
« Reply #6 on Jun 1, 2009, 6:09pm »

Aging && Dying Rules
― Twenty Sixth; each wolf one and up ages in the spring no matter what season they were born in. This is so you don't have to remember what your wolf's birthday is to age them. Make sure you actually age them though. I suggest having a log where you can just modify all the posts at once to the wolf's next age.

― Twenty Seventh; pups age faster than adults so you can actually roleplay them faster. This is so you don't have to wait four months before you can actual roleplay them. However, this rule is optional... you don't have to speed age your pups if you don't want to.

― Twenty Eighth; wolves may breed at the age of three years. Any one who accidentally breeds their wolf earlier will be given a stillborn or if the randomizer likes you; you may get one pup. If you have any questions about this, please message me or a staff.

― Twenty Ninth; once your wolf has come of age (19-25)... you, sadly, must pick a day where they will die for some reason. Wolves may also die before they come of age from; being attacked by another, blood lost, illness, or suicide.

― Thirty; you may post with your wolf after death in The Wolven Afterlife or in their original packland. Please try to keep from having dead wolves (ghosts) all over the place as well... pay attention to those who live.

NOTE :: once a wolf is dead, they are dead. They will not come back to live no matter what, so please think about it before actually killing them off.

 God && Goddess Rules
« Reply #7 on Jun 1, 2009, 6:56pm »

God && Goddess Rules
― Thirty One; these wolves are no different than normal ones besides the fact that they can change into humans. They, however, will have titles such as; "God of ____" or "Goddess of ____". The only way we will think about giving powers to Gods/Goddesses are if this plot pulls off and stays active for awhile.

― Thirty Two; the gods and goddesses will be picked by the staff for activity. If you wish to become one; get whoever you want to become one get them active! Maybe you will be picked! Once the staff have decided on a number, the chosen members will be asked to create a thread by me or another staff member.

― Thirty Three; the gods/goddesses will have a special mark somewhere on their body with a chosen color by the Mystic being who actually meets them. Sadly, you may not decide the marking, but you may decide where it is and its color.

― Thirty Four; gods/goddesses may have any personality in the world. There could be a sweet one than an insane one. It doesn't matter as long as you get and stay active!

― Thirty Five; they do not have to have super powers to become awesome and all. It is likely that these gods/goddesses will come in conflict with normal wolves. Some normal wolves could worships these gods/goddess and other could completely hate them. It all depends on the wolf and where they are. Keep in mind that they are new!

― Thirty Six; they may ONLY transform into their human form if there is a special event posted by a staff member or if they are in contact with another god/goddess. If you have any questions over them, please message me as soon as possible.
